The Calgary Jewish Academy was founded in 1987 as a result of the amalgamation of Calgary's first Jewish schools- The Calgary Hebrew School (1920), and The l.L. Peretz School (1928). As such, communication and involvement are essential. The Calgary Jewish Academy recognizes that parents are the prime resource for the child. Students of the Calgary Jewish Academy develop a strong sense of Jewish identity through programs which raise the level of Jewish education and consciousness. Students of the Calgary Jewish Academy receive a superior education in the Alberta curriculum, confidence, giving them a competitive edge, and foundation necessary for a smooth transition into other learning institutions.
